About the QASP Tool
The Quality Assurance Self-assessment Preparation (QASP) Tool is designed on the premise of the IIA's Quality Assessment Manual and Standards (Standard 1300). It enables an evaluation of the internal audit function's conformance with the IIA Standards, an evaluation of internal auditors application of the Code of Ethics and assesses the performance of the internal audit function. It further considers the identification of opportunities for improvement. (source: IIA) The QASP Tool consists of three (3) key components:
- Self-assessment: Identification of shortcomings (gaps) - IIA Std 1311 (Periodic Internal Assessments)
- Monitoring Tool (Remedial Action Plan - RAP): Monitors progress to improve shortcomings emanating from the self-assessment
- Reporting: Generate reports that highights areas for improvement
